Banff is home to elk, black bears, grizzly bears, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and more. Dawn and dusk are the best times for sightings, especially along the Bow Valley Parkway.
The Vermilion Lakes drive and the area around the Banff Springs golf course are reliable for elk. Mountain goats and bighorn sheep are often spotted near roadside cliffs.
Always observe from a safe distance and never approach or feed wildlife. Our guides are trained to spot animals safely and share them with the group without disturbing them.
